Presenting our 2008 National Qualifiers
The USAG Trampoline and Tumbling Junior Olympic competition season typically starts in January and ends in summer at the National Championships. In order to compete at the Nationals, each athlete must first qualify at either a State or Regional Championship.
After a long season filled with hard work and strong competition, here are your 2008 St. Louis Elite Trampoline and Tumbling National Qualifiers:
Congratulations to all, with a special congratulations to Henry Baer, who will represent Region IV as a Regional All-Star on the Trampoline.
Good weekend at Regionals
This past weekend, nine athletes from St. Louis Elite made the journey to Highland, IN to compete at the USAG Region IV Trampoline and Tumbling Regional Championships. The team brought home five gold, four silver, and three bronze medals.
St. Louis Elite’s 2008 Regional Champions are (in alphabetical order):
- Natalie Altis: Trampoline (Level 6)
- Henry Baer:Trampoline (Level 9), Double Mini (Level 8), Tumbling (Level 7)
- Clayton Janvrin: Trampoline (Level 7)
In addition to being Regional Champion on Trampoline, Henry Baer also won a spot on the Regional All-Star Team for trampoline. The Regional All-Stars are normally Level 10 athletes, but because there are no Region IV Level 10 trampolinists in Henry’s age group, his victory on trampoline earned him the spot on the All-Stars team.
“The team did a fantastic job at the competition against challenging opponents,” said head coach Eric Miller. “Henry will be our third Regional All-Star in three years, which is very exciting!”
The final competition of the season for St. Louis Elite will be the 2008 Junior Olympic National Championships in Kansas City, Missouri. Eleven athletes from St. Louis Elite will be competing for national titles to finish off an exciting and successful season.
St. Louis Elite successful at State Tramp and Tumble Championships
Fourteen athletes from St. Louis Elite Tramp and Tumble competed at the State Championships, bringing home 13 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals. In addition to that they also won two team trophies, for Level 9 Trampoline and Level 8 Double Mini. Twelve athletes also qualified for the 2008 National Championships. Read more

Meet Me in St. Louis 2008 a huge success
Over 150 athletes from 15 gyms (in three states) converged on Lindbergh High School last Friday night and Saturday for the 1st (hopefully annual) Meet Me in St. Louis, a USA Gymnastics sanctioned Trampoline and Tumbling Meet. By almost any standard, the meet was a huge success.
The following comment from an athlete’s parent, posted to the Meet Me in St. Louis website, is typical of what we heard on Saturday during the meet.
Congrats on your first meet!! I wanted to let you know that your meet was, hands down, the most organized and best planned meet we’ve ever been to.
We really appreciated the Fri. night training, the fantastic concessions (with reasonable prices), and the website (maps, area attractions, spectator info, etc.) We actually ended up spending a second night to take in some of what St. Louis has to offer!!
At the meet, everyone was very helpful and friendly!! Thanks for a great time. I plan on telling our coach to put this meet on our calendar next year!!
P.S. The medals are AWESOME. (editor’s note: that’s a picture of the medal up above)
Planning and executing this meet was a team effort with folks from St. Louis Elite Tramp and Tumble (obviously) all pitching in and working together, and help and assistance from St. Louis Elite Cheerleading and the staff at Kids World Gymnastics .
Thank you to everyone who helped.
Cheerleading, Tramp and Tumble both competing next weekend
This is a busy time of year for both the St. Louis Elite All-Star Cheerleading and the St. Louis Elite Tramp and Tumble Teams.
The All Star Cheer squads have had a great inaugural season, and they are approaching the end of their season. Keep watching this site for news on the upcoming tryouts (late April) for next year’s squads. In the meantime, you can check out the squads next weekend when they compete in Wham Jam! , a JAMfest! event, at the St. Charles convention center on Saturday, February 16th. Doors open at 08:00, and the fun lasts all day. For more details, check out the Event Information page.
While the Cheer squads are here in town, the Tramp and Tumble team will be heading down I-44 to compete in Rock and Tumble, an eligibility meet being put on by Head over Heals Gymnastics in Marshfield, MO. (See the Map of St. Louis Elite TnT Meets for more info on exact location of the meet.) This is one of four remaining eligibility meets as the team prepares for the State Championships on April 26.
We wish the best of luck to all of our athletes.
